Role: This senior-level position provides administration, leadership, direction, oversight, and accountability in all areas of the Town’s Office of Development Services and serves as a member of the Town’s staff leadership team. The position primarily serves as the program and project manager to all matters broadly related to economic development; to assigned community development projects and placemaking initiatives; to all assigned grant applications, administration, monitoring, and compliance; and as the manager of the Neighborhood Services Division.
Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: creating and administering business attraction, retention, and expansion programs; business outreach initiatives; business incentive and grant programs; development finance and revenue-sharing systems, monitoring, and reporting; completion, monitoring and compliance of grant applications and grant funds; providing assistance on public projects as assigned; and completing special projects. The position requires fieldwork to include conducting permit pre-issuance site visits and review, visiting construction sites, attending community meetings, staffing the M-UTC Committee, and conducting outreach related to development.
The position provides direction and oversight to the Neighborhood Services Division. The Neighborhood Services Division provides inspections for the Town’s licensing and permit programs and administers educational outreach on these programs and related codes. Additionally, the position conducts troubleshooting, administration, relationship building, study, statistical analysis, and related items. The position works collaboratively with other offices and departments, developers, legal counsel, other government agencies (Federal, State, and Local), quasi-governmental agencies, and non-profits in the development of innovative programs and initiatives.
